The Kapelle from Concordia University Chicago will present their sacred choral program, “Songs and Praises” on Friday, March 8 at 7 pm. Free admission. Folksongs and spirituals will be featured as well “Benedictus sit Deus” by Mozart, “Alles nur nach Gottes Willen” by J.S. Bach, “I Will Sing to the Lord” by Carl Schalk, and “Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me” by Jonathan Kohrs. Conducted by Dr. Charles P. Brown, professor of music and director of choral activities, The Kapelle has reached audiences in Argentina, the Baltic nations, Canada, Chile, France, Poland and Russia, in addition to extensive touring throughout the United States. This May, The Kapelle will perform in Scotland and England. The concert at Mt. Olive Lutheran will kick off their Spring Tour March 8-17 where they will also sing in Missouri, Tennessee, Indiana and Michigan.
